A little about me…

Many creatives start their story with something like- “when I was a kid, somebody gave me a camera,” I’m no different. Being a photographer’s son, I got thrust into duty while my friends were still at home watching cartoons. He did weddings, which meant I did weddings. Honestly, I didn’t think much of it until I worked my first shift at Burger King. The smell of that uniform after a long day made me rethink my life goals.

I quickly fell in love with photojournalism. Dedication to the moment became engrained in my soul. After graduating from the University of Florida, I finally landed a role at the NY Times Company,. While being a shooter was my dream, when offered the role of editor, I discovered a deep passion to grow and nurture teams. We delivered on every assignment and earned a reputation for our talent and vigor. Our success allowed me the opportunity to teach visual storytelling at my alma mater. I loved every second of every class. I also never left weddings, I always saw these as the most difficult of any assignment and my chance to grow personally as a creator.

In 2017, I made a big transition to Atlanta, going full time in higher education at Kennesaw State University. This began a new season of shooting and building. On the PR side we raised up a social media team that delivered excellent visual content, bringing KSU tremendous awareness and engagement. After being promoted to the strategic marketing side, I played a key role in growing a team of talented storytellers who produced rich, meaningful content, helping the University grow from near obscurity to becoming the second largest in the state. We created masterful commercials, built a campus-wide DAM, scratch-built a virtual campus tour and published some of the most engaging, omni-channel stories of my career.

In 2020, I left KSU after being offered the role of creative director and co-founder for a startup in the financial literacy space. Now I create video-based educational courses that are desperately needed, while giving entrepreneurship a go. I still can’t resist the occasional wedding and I am also growing a new creative team at my church.

At this stage of my career, I’m more enthusiastic than ever to create meaningful content and grow new teams and processes. Let’s go!
